Kuroo may be a giant dork, but his first impression can come off as kind of intimidating (especially if you're meeting him for the first time in a volleyball match). So most of his partners assume he likes it rough. While he doesn't *dislike* it per say, he's not exactly into it either, but he's always been too awkward/shy/insecure to bring it up.
